Spider-Woman : Agent of S.W.O.R.D. [Motion Picture Comics]

As I'm looking for art to post on my tumblr, I go looking for for some art by a mister Alex Maleev. Seeing what he's done, I see and remember reading his and Brian Michael Bendis book Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D. [google is your friend] way back in 2009. I really liked it. The selling point was explosive, eye-popping art of Mr. Maleev. Furthermore, my memory was also jogged when I seen that the comic was made into a motion picture! So, you guys are in luck. You don't have to buy the comic [unless you want to], you can just sit back and watch Jessica Drew hunt down some aliens.

Meet Sarah Pichelle, artist of the new Ultimate Spider-Man

We've all heard the news of the new, bi-racial Spider-man, Miles Morales by now. All the negative comments and all the great news from Marvel about it. Well all of that was just the tip of the iceberg. Miles Morales is more than the little bit of news about him and Sarah Pichelli and Tom Brevoort, Marvel's Senior Vice President of Publishing has a lot to say about his future with Comic Book Resources. Below is some art from the new series by Ms. Pichelle.

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

CBRThe story of Mies' introduction broke in "USA Today," and so far response has been, well, overwhelming to say the least. I'm sure you guys were anticipating the news to catch on in general, but between some very supportive, positive responses and some downright racist ones, it seems to have been a very surreal week for everyone involved. What do you make of how this has blown up and the tenor of discussions overall?

Sarah Pichelli: ...Maybe Miles hit a raw nerve with society. I have to admit, I felt saddened reading all those racist comments on the net. Someone even used the word "politically correct" as a kind of insult!

Comic books were born to speak to the people about the people -- even when they talk about superpowers, mutants, aliens or whatever fantastic creatures come from the writer's mind.
CBR: Since we're learning first about this character in terms of his ethnicity rather than his story and in the papers rather than in the comics, it's easy to snap judge Miles as more of a publicity stunt right out of the gate? What do you say to that attitude?

Sarah Pichelli: ...A lot people are stuck on Miles' ethnicity because it’s the biggest, most obvious change in the book, but I can assure you that it’s just the tip of the iceberg. You will see how complex and rich the new story will be when the book hits.
