Spider-Woman : Agent of S.W.O.R.D. [Motion Picture Comics]

As I'm looking for art to post on my tumblr, I go looking for for some art by a mister Alex Maleev. Seeing what he's done, I see and remember reading his and Brian Michael Bendis book Spider-Woman: Agent of S.W.O.R.D. [google is your friend] way back in 2009. I really liked it. The selling point was explosive, eye-popping art of Mr. Maleev. Furthermore, my memory was also jogged when I seen that the comic was made into a motion picture! So, you guys are in luck. You don't have to buy the comic [unless you want to], you can just sit back and watch Jessica Drew hunt down some aliens.

Drake - Take Care Album Cover

Take Care on October 24th. OVO XO....

Feels like it's been so long. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on October 24...I wouldn't miss it for the world.
See you soon. - Drake

Special Report: Batman: Battle For The Cowl [Revisited]

Anyone remember the ol’ Battle For The Cowl event by DC after Batman seemingly died in the Final Crises? Well, I just got done reading it again and I have to say, I didn’t like it as much as I originally did. When I first read it I was just starting out with comics and when this came up I was just excited to just read it. Now, I see some things I didn’t like with the personality of the characters and some of the pacing. It’s still a quality read though, just doesn’t have that much staying power. Espectially now with the DC reboot coming in September.

Special Report: DCU REBOOT!

As you all know, DC Comics is rebooting 52 books next month with all new #1s, new creative teams, new stories, new costumes, new books, new teams, and just a different DC all over as far this geek can see. Update: I guess this is what DC had to do. They've tried to fix continuity for, like, 20 years now. I wonder what they will keep and give the axe to? I'm going to go through some (a lot) of these changes along with my opinion and some of the new artwork for characters. Some of this will be intriguing, some not so much.

DCU BLOG
Let's start off this road with some news concerning the Batman Universe. Not a lot of change here with the writers and artist, but the books stemming from the reboot. Batman & Robin will continue on, with Bruce and his son Damian. The writing is as it is now with Tomasi and Gleason. So now you ask yourself "what about Dick Grayson?" Well, he's still around, but he's coming back as Nightwing in his own book.

Tim Drake is still Red Robin (iThink). The info on the Red Robin book is still unknown officially, but I think it's done. He still appears with the Titans, which you will read about a little later.
More big news is the largely controversial move to make Barbara Gordon as Batgirl and leaving her persona as Oracle. I, for one, don't like it. I wasn't around when she was Batgirl in continuity, but I feel she has done more as Oracle than her as Batgirl ever will and so does The Nerdy Bird. I mean, Oracle was very import in the Batman information network and she's really good at it. I don't know what she can offer as Batgirl that ol' Oracle couldn't do, but whatever. So where does that leave Stephanie Brown? Well, I couldn't tell you. It's not like their going to write her out of continuity though.

The Batman titles (including Detective Comics) will remain the same, with a minor change. As follows, the list of Titles and writers and artist:
  • Tony Daniel on  Detective Comics as Writer and Artist
  • Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo on Batman
  • David Finch as Writer and Artist/Jay Fabok on Batman: The Dark Knight
  • Peter J. Tomasi as Writer on Batman & Robin with Gleason on pencils
  • J.H. Williams III, Haden Blackman and Amy Reeder begins in BATWOMAN #1.
Also, The Red Hood and The Outlaws looks really cool too. The Outlaws being Starfire and Arsenal.
Okay, now for the rest of the universe. LoL

Ivan Ries and Joe Prado
The Green Lantern camp isn't changing much at all. Some new costumes maybe, but that's it. Geoff, Tomasi, and Bedard still at the helm of the main Green Lantern Titles. But Peter Milligan will be writing the new Red Lantern series. Sounds promising. I don't know how a ongoing title will work for it though. Johns will also be writing the highly anticipated return of Aquaman

The news about the Justice League has been beaten to death and they pretty much know the turn out of that! Geoff Johns, Jim Lee & Scott Williams means you buy it. No Martian Manhunter though.

What I'm looking forward to is the new Teen Titans. I mean, just look at this cover. Freaking awesome. Only thing now is that I have to read about the people who aren't Red Robin, Superboy, and Kid Flash in this pic. And about the Red Robin and Kid Flash - I thought Red Robin was going to be leader of the Outsiders, as indicated in the Batman: Incorperated #6 and I think something to change the hero communities view on The Flash family after the events in Flashpoint. From what I've read, the description of the new series make it seem like no one know's who Kid Flash is or what he's all about. [seems cool]. This series will be helmed by Scott Lobdell and artists Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund.

DCU Blog
So with the Brightest Day event coming to a close, one of the stories to come out of that is Firestorm and. And guess what? The Firestorm matrix is split into 2 parts.  Jason Rusch and Ronnie Raymond are separated. The art looks cool, but who knows anything about Ethan Van Sciver's writing ability? Gail Simone co-writes it too, but I'm still no too sure on this.

Another big character that survived Brightest Day is The Savage Hawkman, and he's getting a whole new series of his own. Tony Daniel is the scribe for his and I would like this to work out. I really like Daniels writing and with Phillip Tan on the pencils, the book should turn out beautiful.

And to round out all the artist turned writers for his post, is Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato. Johns is officially gone and the artist of the recently re-numbered series takes on co-writing and art duties The Flash. And that isn't the most shocking new of the day.

The most shocking news is that Brian Azzarello is going to take on the responsibility of Wonder Woman. Couldn't believe it. That was very unexpected. I'm actually curious to see how he can approach this character without alienating longtime fans of the character and keep the Princesses roots intact.

And speaking of woman in comics, Duane Swierczynski will be writing Birds Of Prey! Love that guys work.

Now, for the bad news. Some series didn't make the cut. My beloved Xombi didn't make the cut. It just started and now it's getting gutted. But if you still need your Rozum fix STATIC SHOCK will be his new title in the reboot!
